- In 2025, the energy market was still influenced by the Estonian and global economic environment, political decisions and pressure on consumer purchasing power.
- The price pressures on the fuel market that emerged in the autumn put the risks of market consolidation under the limelight, alongside the question of how sustainable short-term price gains are in the longer term.
- Despite market volatility, Alexela's customer base grew; the importance of value-based consumer choice and local capital became more apparent.
Key events in 2025
Main events of 2025, by area
- In relation to the desynchronisation, we invested in developing our crisis preparedness capabilities: we ensured the availability of fuel at filling stations with autonomous power supply and expanded our preparedness beyond the minimum required by the state.
- We opened a new-generation service station on Jalaka Street in Tartu, where we offer both traditional fuels and ultra-fast (400 kW) charging facilities, as well as a varied menu in our café-shop.
- We established a large and convenient electric car charging area at Tallinn Airport (stage 1: 32 public charging plugs).
- We opened the extension to the area of charging points at the DPD depot and strengthened the charging network at destinations and logistics hubs.
- We expanded and developed our self-service and automation initiatives (service availability, efficiency).
We developed solutions based on local resources (the biomethane and bio-LNG value chain) and are taking forward new technologies, including the direction of hydrogen. Important milestones:
- Estonia's first hydrogen filling station in Väo (for business customers)
- Pilot project for a public hydrogen filling station on Peterburi Road.
- Food service clearly developed into a separate area of activity: café-shops, Täkupoiss (family restaurant, catering, mobile food service solution).
- In 2025, Täkupoiss was recognised as a family-friendly eatery by the Estonian Association of Large Families for the second year running.
- The quality of the service is confirmed by customer feedback and its reputation (including a Google rating of 4.7 in the context of roadside restaurants).
- We launched a catering service, introduced an automated ordering system, and in 2025, the mobile kitchen of Täkupoiss catered for events with over 200 participants in Estonia.
- As a pilot, we opened the Sauga café-shop 24/7: a self-service model during the night, with an emphasis on trust and accessibility.
- As a mark of quality, Alexela's filling station coffee won the recognition of an independent coffee expert in a blind taste test at filling stations (best cappuccino).
- In June 2025, we shifted the focus of our community programme towards supporting national defence and contribute to the Reserve Forces Fund (strengthening drone capabilities). In 2025, we raised over €15,000 for the Reserve Forces Fund through sales of digital camo products and donations from our community programme.
